Buffalo Creek Reservoir - located at Lake Cook & Arlington Heights Road. Go north on Arlington Heights 1/2 mile to Checker Rd. West on Checker to preserve entrance. From parking lot take trail west

Lake at Independence Grove - located at Milwaukee Ave & Buckley Road near Libertyville. Go east on Buckley Rd. (Rte 137) to Preserve entrance and park. Lake is within sight of parking lot. There is a charge for out of county residents.

Banana and Taylor Lakes - located at the corner of 176 & Fairfield Rd near Wauconda. Go west on Rte 176 to preserve entrance and follow signs to museum. Taylor lake is east of museum, Banana lake is northeast of Taylor

Beaver Lake and Acorn Pond - located corner of 176 & Fairfield Rd near Wauconda. Go south on Fairfield to Ivanhoe Road. West on Ivanhoe for less than 1/2 mile to gravel road on south side.  Take gravel road to end and park.  Head straight south on trail for 1/4 mile to Acorn Lake, continue south to reach Beaver Lake.
